But it’s also the quiet, fierce hope of a mother standing next to her daughter on the first day of school—the kind of love that says, "I want your life to be better than mine was." It’s raw, it’s human, and sometimes, it’s a little bit harsh.
Seeing Red
When I was working on my piece Love, I knew it had to be red. Not a soft, rosy pink, but a vibrant, unapologetic red. Because real love isn't always soft. It’s intense. It’s a projection of every emotion we’ve ever felt—the good, the bad, and the "I can't believe I'm doing this" moments.
I wanted to capture the reality of that emotion in a way that makes you stop and look twice. If you look hard enough at the canvas, you’ll probably see a reflection of your own story in those layers.
